Add an Edge Gateway

Connect one certified Fishtube Edge Gateway to one vessel from Edge gateway management.

Before you begin​

  • Sign in as a Fleet Manager with permission to add gateways.
  • Confirm that the vessel belongs to your organization, or prepare a name for a new vessel.
  • Obtain the complete 13-digit NVIDIA module serial from the gateway label or approved inventory record. Keep any leading zeroes.
  • Confirm that the gateway is powered on and connected to the Internet.

The serial identifies certified inventory; it is not a password. Fishtube verifies the gateway through its separately commissioned device credential.

Add and pair the gateway​

  1. Open Edge gateway management.
  2. Choose Add Edge Gateway.
  3. Select an existing vessel or choose Create a new vessel.
  4. Enter all 13 digits of the gateway serial.
  5. Choose Add Edge Gateway.
  6. Confirm that the gateway appears under Added Edge gateways for the selected vessel.
  7. Keep the physical gateway online while it completes registration and reports camera health.

An offline gateway remains visible instead of blocking the workflow. FishTube fills the model, software version, capabilities, and camera count after the certified gateway connects.

Expected result​

The gateway card progresses independently through pairing, registration, connection, and live readiness. A paired gateway is not necessarily online, and an online gateway is not necessarily ready to stream.

If the serial is unavailable​

Check the complete serial and leading zeroes. An unavailable serial may still require certified inventory provisioning, may already belong to another organization, or may be suspended. Fishtube uses the same safe response for these cases and does not reveal inventory ownership.

Use the API Reference to inspect gateway inventory, claim, vessel, registration, and status schemas. The browser workflow never accepts a device credential, credential digest, organization ID, or caller-selected device UUID.
